Gluten-free sushi in Punta del Este

Most of our Nihon menu is naturally gluten-free: rolls without panko, nigiri, sashimi and tamago rolls (Placer Real, Soul, Feel, Tamago Special). We include gluten-free soy sauce with every gluten-free order. As a hot gluten-free option, we have yakisoba with rice noodles (also vegan). The huancaína sauce contains gluten (water crackers), so the chips we serve come without it. Our kitchen is shared: if you have strict celiac requirements, let us know in advance to coordinate.

What's naturally gluten-free at Nihon

Most of our menu is already gluten-free by design. Specifically:

Rolls without panko · classic rolls (no breaded versions). Our hot rolls have a crispy panko crust, so they're not gluten-free.
Nigiri and sashimi · rice + fish only, completely gluten-free.
Tamago rolls · Placer Real, Soul, Feel and Tamago Special (24 pcs). The tamago (Japanese sweet omelette) is gluten-free.
Vegan/vegetarian rolls without panko · Veggie maki, Velvet, Aki, Green roll, Naharumaki, Veggie Tropical, Futu maki.
Yakisoba with rice noodles · the only hot wok-station dish that is gluten-free (and vegan when you choose tofu).

Gluten-free soy sauce included

Standard soy sauce contains traces of gluten. We include gluten-free soy sauce with every gluten-free order, at no extra cost. Just let us know when ordering by WhatsApp that it's a gluten-free order.

What's not gluten-free

To be transparent:

Hot rolls · the crispy crust is made with panko (breadcrumbs).
Huancaína sauce · contains water crackers, so the chips we serve come without it for gluten-free orders.
Standard yakimeshi/yakisoba · uses wheat noodles. The gluten-free version uses rice noodles, requested in advance.
Gyozas · the wrapper is wheat-based.

Any other boat (40 or 60) or 20-piece combo can be adapted at no extra cost — our sushi chef swaps the panko pieces for gluten-free options and builds a varied selection.

Cross-contamination warning

Our kitchen is shared, so there may be traces of gluten in any dish. For strict celiac patients, please let us know in advance and we'll coordinate prep on dedicated surfaces and utensils. We can't guarantee 100% absence of traces, but we minimize the risk.

Yes. Tamago rolls (Placer Real, Soul, Feel and the 24-piece Tamago Special) are gluten-free. They use only rice, tamago, salmon and gluten-free soy sauce.
